  • The simplest variant has the Resham yarn in a single color. It is how it weaves the entire pattern. Based on the nature of thread used in weaving, it’s known as Resham baluchari silk.
  • Meenakari baluchari silk has two or three variants of threads used in weaving the saree.
  • Swarnachari or baluchari in golden strands come even in gold or silver threads. It often has Meenakari work in other patterns. It helps illuminate the design in brighter shades.

A modern baluchari silk saree gets woven in one week by the weaver. The jacquard technique needs the weaver to draw the design on a sheet of paper and punch it using a card.
